For the international trade fair SPS in Nuremberg, EFKA produced custom LED frames for a striking, contemporary exhibition stand for end client HEITEC, commissioned by stand builder Blu-Donau Atelier Damböck GmbH. The concept immediately caught the eye: three oversized letter H’s inspired by the client’s logo. EFKA delivered bespoke LED frames that showcased HEITEC’s various product groups in a powerful and well-structured way.
The stand attracted strong attention and received enthusiastic feedback from both visitors and the project team. With a tight schedule in place, the ability to move quickly was essential. Werner, Project Manager at Blu-Donau Atelier Damböck, and Tea, Sales Manager at EFKA, reflect on the collaboration.
Custom LED frames for an international trade fair stand
Together with its German parent company, Atelier Damböck ranks among the top 20 exhibition stand builders in Germany. For HEITEC, they developed an open stand concept with ample space for interaction and product presentations. The client’s brief was clear: create a modern, distinctive stand where multiple solutions could be presented in a clear and cohesive way. For the design and production of the custom frames, Atelier Damböck partnered with EFKA.
The challenge: a striking exhibition stand delivered on a tight timeline
The starting point was straightforward: two large H-shaped structures directly referencing the HEITEC brand. The challenge lay in the scale, structural stability and the tight production timeline. A standard system was not sufficient, so a fully custom solution was required.
Werner explains: “Normally, we would manufacture this type of structure ourselves. At that time, however, we didn’t have the capacity. Other suppliers were also unable to deliver what we needed within the required timeframe.”
Based on a previous encounter at a trade fair, they reached out to EFKA.
“We had spoken with Tea before and decided to contact her. We were pleased that EFKA was willing to take on the challenge and respond so quickly.”
Tea adds: “It certainly required some fast coordination. After several calls back and forth and close consultation with our production team, we confirmed that it would be possible to deliver within the given timeframe. Projects like this are exactly what make our work interesting.”
A technical solution tailored to the project
Because standard solutions were not sufficient, the team opted for a fully custom-built solution. Werner: “The fabric had to be perfectly tensioned, without shadowing, despite the large dimensions. At the same time, the construction needed to be stable and easy to assemble on site. EFKA actively contributed ideas and proposed a technical solution that met all requirements.”
Tea explains: “To achieve this, we selected a frame with LED lighting mounted on a Dibond panel. Both sides were illuminated to ensure even light distribution and structural stability. We also supplied detailed technical drawings so the stand builders could assemble everything efficiently on site.”
A partner that takes the pressure off
The collaboration was characterised by clear communication and a shared focus on finding solutions. Werner: “From the very first contact, communication was clear and efficient. Having one dedicated point of contact was reassuring and created trust.”
Thorough preparation behind the scenes, from production to transport
Internally, the focus was on precise manufacturing, thorough quality control and ensuring reliable delivery. Tea: "Everything was thoroughly tested in advance. We pre-assembled as much as possible so that the stand builder could start installation on site immediately.”
Fast and efficient installation on site
The stand build progressed exactly according to schedule and without any issues. Werner: “Thanks to the experience of our installation team combined with EFKA’s thorough preparation, the LED frames were installed quickly and cleanly.”
The result: exclusively positive feedback
The large illuminated letters gave the stand a strong, modern presence. Visitors responded enthusiastically to both the design and the finishing quality.
Werner concludes: “We received only positive feedback, both on the visual impact and the quality. The collaboration was also very smooth. EFKA truly took the pressure off us. Their communication and consistent quality, even with short lead times, really make the difference.”
